Drones to Oversee Dubai’s Housing Projects in a Technological Leap
Dubai’s Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment has unveiled a pioneering initiative to incorporate drone and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into its housing projects.
This strategic move is designed to boost innovation and sustainability within the housing sector. Collaborating with global technology companies, the establishment aims to ensure that the drone and AI solutions adhere to international standards, supporting Dubai's ambition to become the world's smartest city.
The cutting-edge technologies will be employed to oversee housing projects, maintain assets and properties, and deliver AI-enhanced services. This initiative is a key component of the establishment's digital transformation strategy and aligns with the UAE’s broader AI strategy.
“The adoption of drone technology in the establishment’s engineering projects reflects our firm commitment to innovation and leadership in providing distinguished housing services and adopting future-oriented practices within our strategic initiatives. We are confident that this technology will contribute to achieving our strategic objectives, enhancing the efficiency of our operations, and elevating the housing system in the emirate,” stated Eng. Abdullah Al Shehi, Director of the Engineering Projects Department.
Drones will play a critical role in monitoring construction activities, ensuring adherence to work plans, timelines, and safety standards. Additionally, they will be utilized for preventive maintenance, identifying issues such as water leaks and insulation faults.
The establishment has also equipped its staff with training to operate drone technologies, analyze data, and extract actionable insights to support decision-making processes.
This initiative is in line with the Dubai Social Agenda 2033 and the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, aiming to develop the city with superior living experiences and housing services while optimizing resource efficiency.
